Adopt an Animal
Click on the links above and see the animals who are available for adoption at the KCHS. As a No-Kill shelter, we can only take in new animals as current ones are adopted and space allows. You should not have any problem finding a match, as we always have a wide variety of cats and dogs waiting for a new home.
You are welcome to come out to the adoption center and visit with the animals. Please remember that a shelter environment is sometimes stressful and the animals may exhibit anxiety through shyness, excitability, and excessive barking, or whining. Ask the staff to remove the animal from his or her kennel so that you can visit with the animal in a private setting or in the fenced one-acre play area. Please feel free to take your time and you can always choose to come back for additional visits with a particular animal.
Everything is Better with a Buddy!
Now, when you adopt a homeless animal from the KCHS you can take home a buddy for 1/2 price! Adopt the first animal at our regular adoption cost and you can adopt a buddy (a second animal) for half the price of his/her adoption fee. Any combination that fits your family will work! Want two cats? How about a dog and a cat? Two dogs? Mix and match and bring home a pair that will be buddies for life!
Adoption Prices:
- $70.00 unaltered kittens
- $90.00 spayed/neutered cats/kittens
- $85.00 unaltered puppies
- $130.00 spayed/neutered dogs/puppies

Your adoption fee helps to defray the $8,000 a month operating expense. A 25% Spay & Neuter Discount Certificate valid at local animal hospitals is included with the adoptions of unaltered animals. All animals are current on their vaccinations, wormed if needed, and microchipped.
When you adopt an animal from the KCHS you will receive an adoption kit filled with goodies and information (including samples of dog and cat food, and/or treats and coupons), free I.D. tags, subscription to our newsletter, and Lifetime Membership in the KCHS Lost & Found Program!
